New publication: Artful innovation: How to experiment in symphonic music practice

Aaaaand another publication of our exciting project Artful Participation! Together with Ruth Benschop, Peter Peters and Imogen Eve, we published a chapter in the edited volume Tuning Up – Innovative Potentials of Musikvermittlung, edited by Sarah Chaker & Axel Petri-Preis, published by Transcript Verlag. The book is open access, and you can find it here.

The book contains great work from a variety of scholars and disciplines, all centred around the German notion of ‘musikvermittlung’ – which loosely captures music education as well as outreach and societal practices within classical music. In the article, we draw some lessons from the experiments we conducted together with South Netherlands Philharmonic.
