New publication: chapter in Routledge Companion to Applied Musicology
It’s finally out! A few years ago, colleagues Veerle Spronck, Imogen Eve and me (of our Artful Participation project) wrote a chapter for a new Routledge Companion to Applied Musicology, edited by Chris Dromey. The book shows the richness and diversity of a field that was once often frowned upon (by musicologists), and includes articles on ecomusicology, forensic musicology, organology, music health and well-being, public engagement, representation and inclusion, as well as new methods and research strategies for research in music contexts. Our chapter tells about our artistic research experiments with imagined and emergent audiences, in the Artful Participation project (Mahler am Tisch-experiment) what we conducted together with musicians from the Southnetherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.
