Art course on de- & post-colonization
Last week, my second-year students of the interdisciplinary art bachelor iArts, finalized the project we worked on for 10 weeks. Together with theatre and performativity teacher Diederik, we explored what role artists can play in the complex debate around de- and postcoloniality. Using methods of artistic research and performativity, students created an artistic space where they explored different aspects of postcoloniality. That resulted in five performances, ranging from topics such as the Partition of India to Dutch water management. They showed impressive work, and I’m really proud of them.
