Upcoming talk at launch of the Maastricht Platform for Community-Engaged Research

This Thursday, the launch of a new platform of my University takes place. The MPCER (Maastricht Platform for Community-Engaged Research) aims to function as a multidisciplinary platform for researchers at Maastricht University who are involved or interested in doing community-engaged research. And learn from each other’s experiences.

I will contribute in a panel session on the question of succes of such engaged projects (how and why does it work or fail?). The program looks exciting, see below. If you want to join, please register here.

With a background in practical philosophy, Science & Technology Studies, and social design, I am an advocate for interdisciplinarity. As a translator I like to cross borders and dive into disciplines, to pirate concepts, methods and approaches. I teach and study ethics of artistic research and aesthetics of societal engagement practices: the ways by which art and design become relevant and valuable in different societal contexts. My aim is to cultivate an ethical sensibility and responsive attitude among artists, designers, scientists and engineers. Read more.
